Currently, the institute has a teaching staff of 12 and 2 assistants. Director and professor Jaw-Ching Wu is a specialist in Gastroenterology/Hepatology and major at clinical, molecular-epidemiological and basic studies of viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Professor Shing-Jong Lin is a specialist in cardiology and major at cardiovascular research, especially in mechanism, treatment and prevention of arteriosclerosis. Professor Chin-Tien Wang is major at research of human immuno-deficiency virus. Professor Chun-Che Shih is a specialist in cardio-vascular surgery and major at related studies. Professor Shih-Chieh Hung is a specialist of orthopedics and major at stem cell and tissue-engineering. Associate professor Teh-Ying Chou is a specialist of pathology and major at lung cancer research. Assistant professor Dau-Ming Niu is a specialist in pediatrics and major at pediatric genetics.
 
As regard to joint appointments, the Academic Sinica member Jacqueline Jia-Kang Whang-Peng is renown in oncology studies. Professor Low-Tone Ho is a specialist in Endocrinology and Metabolism and major at related studies. Professor Der-Cherng Tarng is a specialist in nephrology and major at studies of end-stage renal diseases. Associate professor Yann-Jang Chen is a physician of pediatrics and major at pediatrics and genetic studies of cancers. Associate professor Kou-Juey Wu is major at studies of molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis and metastasis of cancers. Associate professor Yung-Yang Lin is a specialist in neurology and major at magneto-encephalography and neuroscience studies.
 
Other adjunct staffs include director and professor of the Institute of Bio-Medical Science (IBMS) of Academia Sinica, Yuan-Tsong Chen. Also, Professor Lee-Young Chau, Tang K. Tang and Mi-Hua Tao are from IBMS. Professor An-Hang Yang major at pathology, associate professor Benjamin Ing-Tiau Kuo major at epidemiology and statistics, associate professor Yi-Hsiang Huang major at immunopathogenesis and DNA vaccine of viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma and assistant professor Shih-Hwa Chiou major at ophthalmology and stem cell studies are from Taipei Veterans General Hospital. In addition to the above staffs, many outstanding physicians and scientists from National Yang-Ming University, Veterans General Hospitals, Academia Sinica and National Health Research Institute (NHRI) are also invited to give lectures and to supervise the research of students. Many of the teaching staffs are the winners of the National Science Council嚙踝蕭s (NSC) Outstanding Achievement in Science and Technology Award and many other awards. They are also the chairmen of various research fields of the NSC and reviewers of NSC, Department of Education, and Department of Health, NHRI, Academia Sinica and many international SCI journals.
